Scotties Donates 4,500 Boxes of Tissues to Fort Edward, NY Community

With unemployment numbers surging higher every day, Americans are having a harder time providing for themselves and their families. That is why we at Scotties are looking for ways to give back to our local communities when they need it most.

To help support Fort Edward, NY and the surrounding areas – where Scotties employs 350 people at our Irving Consumer Products Tissue Plant – we worked with the Tri-County United Way to participate in a contactless, drive-thru food pantry on Thursday, May 7. Hosted by The Salvation Army in cooperation with Comfort Food Community & the Regional Food Bank of Northeastern New York, the drive-thru pantry was open to anyone in need to ensure everyone has access to necessary supplemental food and important household items like facial tissues in the midst of these challenging times.

Scotties donated over 4,500 boxes of tissues to the nearly 400 cars that drove through the Washington County Fair Grounds that day, serving over 1,700 locals in need. In addition to tissues, we’ve also donated $5,000 directly to the Tri-County United Way so they can continue to provide critical services for New York residents through their network of local charities.

As a family owned business, giving back to our local communities is incredibly important, especially during times like these. We’re so grateful we were able to participate in an event that provided necessary goods for locals right in our back yard, and we’ll be looking for more ways to do so in the coming weeks.
In the meantime, check out more photos from this awesome event below!
